Meet the Zapkam Team

Just like all of the great sports teams in years gone by, every member of our team is vital to our success. For our customers who only speak to us on the telephone or by e-mail, here is a little more information about the Zapkam team:

When did you start working for Zapkam?

"I founded Zapkam in 1998. I started designing and importing goalkeeper gloves with pocket money, at 9 years old, without my parent's knowledge. My first memorable kit sale was at 14 years old when I skipped school to catch the bus to an appointment with the customer [another local secondary school]."

Favourite sport?

"Football is my number one sport; my weekends are usually spent playing or watching it. I also enjoy playing tennis and squash."

Which team do you support?

"Manchester United has been my team since a very young child, but I more regularly go and watch Aston Villa with my brother as they are nearer to home."

Do you play?

"I retired from playing at the end of the 2025 season; realising my legs were past it!"

When did they start working for Zapkam?

Ross is another success story as part of the apprenticeship scheme, he started on May 23rd 2016 and was given a role as sales exectuive after the apprenticeship finished.

Favourite sport?

Ross loves football and cricket, he admits football is his main sport and takes priority over cricket if the two are to ever clash.

Which team do they support?

Ross supports Newcastle United FC as members of his family are from up north, he's supported them for as long as he can remember.

Do we play?

Ross plays football for local team Cotswold Rangers FC and has had spells of playing cricket for Quedgeley and Hardwicke cricket club.

When did they start working for Zapkam?

Ed joined the Zapkam team in February 2018. A passionate football fan who plays for his local team Randwick AFC and loves watching his favorite team, Liverpool.

Ed is a keen footballer and plays for local team Randwick.

Which team do they support?

Liverpool FC.

Do we play?

Ed plays for local team Randwick AFC.

When did they start working for Zapkam?

Kieran joined the Zapkam team in 2022.

Favourite sport?

Football.

Which team do they support?

Manchester United FC.

Do we play?

Kieran plays for Stonehouse Town FC Reserves in Gloucestershire Northern Senior One.

When did they start working for Zapkam?

Jamol joined the Zapkam team in 2025.

Favourite sport?

Football.

Which team do they support?

Manchester City FC.

Do we play?

Jamol plays for Stonehouse Town FC in Hellenic One.

Ben joined the Zapkam team in 2026.

Ben no longer plays, but coaches his son's team at Arborfield Aces FC.
